Notre Dame running back Josh Adams completely torches the USC Trojan defense on a magnificent 84-yard touchdown run.
You could say Josh Adams is pretty good, and the USC Trojans can definitely agree with that after facing this monster of a running back all night long Saturday. Adams completely embarrasses the USC defense with this incredible 84-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to put the Fighting Irish up 42-14.
This definitely wasn’t the only time Adams has had a magnificent highlight of his own this year. Adams has accounted for over 750 yards, averaging nine per carry. He also has a total of five touchdowns this season, not including tonight’s sixth with the 84-yard run. Adams has definitely improved from last season on the ground game, averaging over three more yards per carry than 2016 (5.9). Josh Adams in 2016 had 933 total yards rushing.

Within his 2016 season with 158 carries, Adams ran for 933 yards, meaning half of the rushing attempts he has this season compared to last nearly equals the same total rushing yards in 2017 from 2016. Adams is on pace to rush for over 1,200 yards this season if he keeps this tremendous effort up for the rest of the 2017 football season. Notre Dame is going to be a major threat with Adams in the backfield, especially when bowl season is around the corner.
With all this said, you can definitely assume Adams is the best he has ever been in his career at Notre Dame, and he is only getting better. Before this play tonight, Adams’ longest running play was 73-yards against the Miami RedHawks (OH) on September 30.
