North Carolina could not be worse than it is right now as a football program. The Tar Heels are 1-6 (0-4) on the season and are about to be eliminated from bowl eligibility this season. North Carolina’s lone win this season came against the Old Dominion Monarchs. The Tar Heels have four conference losses to the Louisville Cardinals, the Duke Blue Devils, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Virginia Cavaliers.

Virginia Tech enters play at 5-1 (1-1) on the season. The Hokies are 1-1 in ACC play with a win over the Boston College Eagles, but a home loss to the Clemson Tigers. Virginia Tech is the No. 14 team in the country this week. The winner of the Hokies game with the undefeated Miami Hurricanes might determine who wins the ACC Coastal. Virginia Tech should be a massive favorite over North Carolina in this game. Laying nearly three touchdowns to the Tar Heels seems like the right spread for the Hokies. If they take care of business, Virginia Tech will be bowl eligible and North Carolina will have lost its slim shot of its own.
