Week 8 of college football is here, meaning we’re nearing the hunt for College Football Playoff spots. Some teams have the inside edge, while others are playing to get in. Oklahoma State is one of these teams, as they prepare to face Texas.
The Cowboys sit at 5-1 and as the No. 10 team in the AP Poll. They’re coming off a 59-16 win over the weak Baylor Bears, a game that saw quarterback Mason Rudolph unleash 459 passing yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver James Washington had 235 yards and one of the touchdowns, while Marcell Ateman had 119 yards and a score of his own.
Adding to this, there was Justice Hill’s 117 yards rushing, with the running backs totaling three touchdowns. Texas’ defense has proven to be quality, so far, but can it stop this offensive monster?
The Longhorns dropped to 3-3 after a loss to Oklahoma. Like USC, they played this high-ranking opponent tough but fell by less than a touchdown. Oklahoma State won’t be any easier for them, especially as quarterback Sam Ehlinger tries to match Rudolph.
