Steph Curry and Kevin Durant hit showers early after ejections in fourth quarter

With their team down eight points with less than a minute left in the game, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant managed to get ejected on Saturday night.

When your team’s down eight points with just 43 seconds in the game, you likely would do anything for the fourth quarter to end. Well, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant did just that on Saturday night when they got ejected against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Obviously frustrated for multiple reasons, Curry launched his mouthpiece at a referee late in the quarter on the road, and got booted from the game for his efforts. It’s not the first time Curry’s thrown his mouthpiece in anger, as he did it in the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers

Following that, Durant must’ve wanted to follow the Warriors’ leader’s path and get off the court as quickly as possible, and got himself ejected, as well.

After their NBA Finals win last June, the Warriors obviously had a lot of expectations for their roster heading into the 2017-18 season. However, they haven’t gotten off to the start that they or their fans would’ve liked, as they fell to 1-2 with the 111-101 loss to the Grizzlies on Saturday. That frustration was obviously evident in the players, but it looks like Curry and Durant let it get the best of them in the loss.

Now, fans will have to wait and see if Curry will be punished, or even suspended, for launching the mouthguard at the referee, or if it’ll be brushed off to the side like the last time the incident occurred. Curry hit a fan when he first threw the guard in the 2016 NBA Finals, and no suspension came down for that issue.

Hopefully, the extra 45 seconds in the locker room was worth it for Curry and Durant, because Curry may now end up missing at least 48 minutes if a suspension is given out soon.
