A lot of us watched our teams lose on Sunday, but there was plenty to love if you call yourself a football fan.

Based on mathematics, half of us watched our teams lose on Sunday afternoon. Just because your team lost doesn’t mean there weren’t things to appreciate as a fan of the game. We all love football as a whole, even if we differ when it comes time to draw allegiances.

Even if you’re licking wounds, it’s hard to not love these things that happened in Week 7.

6. Both Los Angeles teams pitched shutouts

Football is back in Los Angeles, even though nothing football related happened there on Sunday.

For the first time since 1992, the Denver Broncos were shut out. Of all the teams to do them in, the Los Angeles Chargers were the ones that smothered Vance Joseph’s team into submission. It’s the second straight loss by the Broncos in a season that slowly seems to be slipping away from them. But this isn’t about their problems, this is all about football in Los Angeles, baby!

Before the Chargers waxed the Broncos in front of a sold out* StubHub Center crowd, the Rams put up a shutout of their own against the Arizona Cardinals. Jared Goff led the Rams to a 33-0 win to boost Los Angeles to 5-2 on the season and give them firm control over the NFC West.

Both Los Angeles teams pitched shutouts on Sunday in home games that weren’t at home. The Chargers blew away the Broncos in Carson, while the Rams home game was over in London. Football made it’s official return to Los Angeles on Sunday, but the actual football won’t be there again until next month.
