The college football season is rolling right along and here are the five best post-game quotes from coaches in Week 8.

After a wild Week 7, the eighth slate of games in the 2017 college football season had a lot to live up to. Unfortunately, there weren’t as many upsets this week as last, but there were some shocking blowouts of top teams.

First, Michigan pulled within just one point shortly before the half, 14-13, but No. 2 Penn State scored on its final drive of the first 30 minutes and poured on in the second half. The Nittany Lions beat the 19th-ranked Wolverines 42-13 in Happy Valley, exacting revenge for last year’s blowout loss in Ann Arbor, 49-10.

Then No. 13 Notre Dame absolutely manhandled USC. Many expected the Fighting Irish to come out on top, but not in that dominating of a fashion. The Fighting Irish went on to beat the No. 11 Trojans in South Bend, 49-14. It seems as if USC’s playoff hopes were crushed before they ever really got a chance to get off the ground.

There were also some top teams who were brought down to the wire such as Michigan State eking out a victory over Indiana, Miami putting Syracuse away late, Oklahoma State sweating out an overtime victory at Texas, Oklahoma needing a comeback to take down Kansas State and West Virginia avoiding a mammoth upset at Baylor.

Certainly, coaches must have made interesting statements following some of these games, right? Here’s a look at the five best coach quotes from the week that was.
