By John Buhler
The Los Angeles Lakers will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night. Here is how to watch this Western Conference NBA game online via live streaming.
The NBA is back. After 11 games on the slate for Saturday night, there will be three games on the schedule for Sunday. The last game of the day will be a nightcap between Western Conference teams in the New Orleans Pelicans (0-2) and the Los Angeles Lakers (1-1).
Tipoff from the Staples Center in Los Angeles will be at 9:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 22. FOX Sports New Orleans will carry the Pelicans telecast in the Greater New Orleans area. Spectrum Sports will have the Lakers broadcast in the Greater Los Angeles area. The available live streams for this game can be found on NBA League Pass and on FuboTV.
The Pelicans enter play at 0-2 on the season. New Orleans lost its first two games of the season to the division rival Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night 103-91 and to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night, 128-120. The Pelicans need to get into the win column fast. They have so much riding on the line this season. It’s very much a make-or-break year for the Pelicans.
Los Angeles enters play at 1-1 on the season. The Lakers lost their first game of the season to the city rival Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, 108-92. They would squeak out a win on the road against the division rival Phoenix Suns on Friday night, 132-130. Los Angeles is not expected to compete for a playoff berth in the Western Conference, but should be a fun watch this season with No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball playing point guard.

It’s interesting to see the Lakers getting points at home from the Pelicans. New Orleans does have better players, but the Pelicans are not playing well out of the gate. Not to say that the Lakers are either, but this one could go either way. New Orleans is desperate for a win, so maybe the Pelicans do win and cover after all? Expect this game to go down to the final possession at Staples Center.
