4. Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars

Bortles is like a pendulum that swings from one extreme to the next. His 2017 season has taken fans and the few that do own him on a joyride. So much so that there is hope he will be available in most leagues.  Without the services of rookie phenomenon Leonard Fournette against Indianapolis on Sunday, he came up big time. It was his first 300-yard game and his fourth game this year that saw him eclipse 200 yards.  A key number is that he’s already got nine touchdowns in six games. When Fournette returns to the fold, Bortles is prone to use him in the screen game or as a check down.

Bortles has always been something of a garbage time darling. That is really no longer the case, as the Jags are by and large winning games.

It seems risky to roll with a figure that has had his pedigree stripped from him. The not-so-crazy thing is that there is something to be said for confidence, and nothing breeds confidence like winning. Jacksonville has a soft schedule that includes the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cleveland Browns, the Indianapolis Colts, the San Francisco 49ers and the now hapless Tennessee Titans. Bortles has plenty of opportunities to eat a few hearty meals given that DeDe Westbrook is on his way back and Marqise Lee keeps getting stronger.

There will be duds here and there, but Bortles has a defense that consistently creates turnovers which net plenty of offensive opportunities.

After their bye week, Bortles is set up to go on a tear.
