It’s already time to start making waiver wire decisions for your fantasy basketball team.

Did your fantasy basketball roster make it through the first week of the 2017-18 regular season unscathed? Owners of Gordon Hayward, Jeremy Lin, Chris Paul, Hassan Whiteside, Dennis Schroder, Rodney Hood, Myles Turner, Nikola Mirotic, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, Dennis Smith Jr., Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton, Jonas Valanciunas, Cody Zeller, Milos Teodosic and JaMychal Green weren’t so lucky.

With injuries striking down fantasy fixtures left and right, you may already find yourself in need of some fresh blood on your squad. That’s where we come in.

At this early juncture of the season, it’s critical not to overreact. If one of your early-round picks will only be sidelined for a week or two, picking up a few extra losses isn’t the end of the world. While late-rounders such as Teodosic, Green, Rose, Zeller and Mirotic aren’t must-owns, the same can’t be said for CP3, Whiteside, Turner, Gordon or DSJ. Don’t panic-drop them under any circumstance.

Since we’re only a few games into the year, most waiver wires should still have high-upside options floating around. If you need to overhaul the back of your bench, the following five players — all of whom are owned in no more than 50 percent of ESPN.com leagues — merit a look.
