Atlanta enters play at 1-2 on the year. After winning their first game of the season to the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta has dropped a pair of games to the division rival Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets. This will be the fourth of five straight road games to start the season for the Hawks.
Miami enters play at 1-1 on the year. After losing its season opener to the division rival Orlando Magic on Wednesday night, the Heat would take care of business and get their first win at home this season over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. Miami looks to be one of the teams that will be in playoff contention in the East, while Atlanta’s 10-straight playoff appearances streak is likely coming to an end.

According to SportsBook Review, the Heat will be laying a whopping 12 points at home to the visiting Hawks. The associated moneylines for this game are Miami -900 and Atlanta +700. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 203.5 points.
In most circumstances, the Heat shouldn’t be laying 12 points at home to a division rival. That being said, Atlanta will be without its best player in starting point guard Dennis Schroder in this one. He suffered an ankle injury in Atlanta’s loss to the Nets on Sunday afternoon.

For that reason, it probably swallow the 12 points and go with the hometown Heat in this game. Atlanta doesn’t have much depth this season. It could be a long year for Atlanta anyway, but especially is Schroder misses significant time due to injury. Maybe Atlanta finds a way to cover the 12-point spread?
