The Los Angeles Dodgers jumped out to a 3-1 win in Game 1 of the 2017 World Series, giving the Dodgers a 1-0 lead to start the series.
It was a hot night in Los Angeles as the Dodgers faced off against the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the 2017 World Series. The triple-digit heat didn’t seem to bother the Dodgers, who won with two clutch home runs from the NLCS co-MVPs to give them a 1-0 lead in the series. It was also one of the fastest World Series games ever played, thanks in large part to the strong pitching performances from Clayton Kershaw and Dallas Keuchel, but in the end the Dodgers came away with the big win.
The action got started in the bottom of the 1st inning when Chris Taylor got on the board with a solo home run that put the Dodgers up 1-0. The Astros answered in the top of the 4th inning when Alex Bregman added a homer run of his own to tie the game at 1-1.
The other NLCS co-MVP, Justin Taylor, sent a ball deep into center field for a 2-run homer that drove in co-MVP Taylor, giving the Dodgers a 3-1 lead. That was all they needed to claim Game 1.
