NFL quarterback rankings, Week 8: Carson Wentz shines
After a week off, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott showed us why we shouldn’t forget about him when talking about elite youngsters.
For those who don’t know, these rankings are calculated using a combination of past performance, current play and projected showing in the future.
Ken Dorsey Division
32. Whoever is playing quarterback for the Cleveland Browns (Prev: NA)
What’s the difference? None of them can play, and they all get benched within an hour.
31. Brett Hundley (Prev: 31)
Hundey was 12-of-25 for 87 yards and an interception against the Saints. He wasn’t just “not Aaron Rodgers,” he was terrible. The Packers are in real trouble.
30. Joe Flacco (Prev: 30)
Flacco continued his horrid season in Minnesota on Sunday, throwing for 186 yards on 4.77 yards per attempt. Through seven games, Flacco has five touchdowns and eight picks.
29. Blake Bortles (Prev: 29)
Bortles was good against the Colts, going for over 300 yards and no interceptions in a 27-0 win. So why doesn’t he move up? Because it’s a mirage. Bortles can’t play well consistently, and also because Colts.
28. Mitch Trubisky (Prev: 28)
Trubisky completed four passes against the Panthers. He’s looked mediocre so far, but tools are evident and the Bears have no receivers. Time to judge.
27. C.J. Beathard (Prev: 27)
On Sunday, Beathard got his first career start and promptly produced 10 points against a bad Cowboys defense. Being 22-of-38 for 235 yards isn’t awesome, but it deserves another look.
26. Drew Stanton (Prev: NA)
With Carson Palmer out for the remainder of the year, Stanton gets the call. We already know who he is. Stanton will be a good backup, a bad starter.
