SANTA CLARA, CA - OCTOBER 22: Ezekiel Elliott

The Dallas Cowboys will have running back Ezekiel Elliott for their NFL Week 8 matchup against the Washington Redskins this weekend.

Ezekiel Elliott will be eligible to play in Week 8 of the NFL season after the NFL’s request for an expedited preliminary injunction was denied. Elliott played this past weekend for the Dallas Cowboys against the San Francisco 49ers, and boy were the Cowboys happy he was eligible for that one. Staring down a six-game suspension, Elliott played a part in three touchdowns, running two in, and catching one in Dallas’ 40-10 victory.

The Houston Texans are getting great play from their rookie quarterback, who will now get his starting left tackle back. Deshaun Watson has proven to be a great find for the Texans, and now that Duane Brown has ended his holdout, he should be even better. Brown was holding out due to a contract dispute, and while the 33-year old could be traded, all signs point to him playing for the Texans now that he is back with the team.

Staying with left tackles, it looks like future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas is done for the year for the Cleveland Browns. Thomas tore his tricep in the team’s 12-9 overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, ending his streak of 10,363 consecutive plays. Despite the Browns being terrible during his 11-year career, Thomas will go down as one of the best offensive tackles in the history of the NFL.

Joe Mixon was a controversial pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 NFL Draft, after some disturbing videos came to light during his time at Oklahoma. Only seven games into his NFL career, he is back in the news for the wrong reasons, this time whining about his carries. Mixon rushed the ball seven times in the first half of the team’s 29-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers but had no carries after halftime. The Bengals have been awful this season, and players crying about touches may be one of the reasons why.

It looks like Jay Cutler should have stayed in the broadcast booth. The veteran quarterback broke his ribs during the Miami Dolphins win against the New York Jets on Sunday and will be out for the foreseeable future. With that in mind, the Dolphins will turn to Matt Moore, who led them to a comeback win on Sunday and helped lead the team to the playoffs last season.
