The Brooklyn Nets (2-2) host the Cleveland Cavaliers (3-1) on Wednesday night for each club’s fifth game of the young season. Here’s how to watch the game online.
Two teams with very little in common, the Cavaliers and Nets, are set to face off on Wednesday night in New York City’s most populous borough. Cleveland, led by the world’s best player, is expected to cannonball into its fourth-straight finals appearance. Brooklyn has retreads looking for another chance, guys you never heard of, and a few players only appreciated by NBA nerds. They just want to build respectability and carve out a little hope for the future.
Though divergent in talent and expectations, both squads will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back. These teams are also linked since Cleveland currently owns Brooklyn’s first-round pick in the upcoming draft.
In the wake of Jeremy Lin’s season-ending injury, Caris LeVert has been starting in the backcourt opposite D’Angelo Russell. The rest of Brooklyn’s starting five is expected to be DeMarre Carroll, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, and nominal starter/very large human, Timofey Mozgov.
Last night, Cleveland decided to roll out their best five players for opening tip. With Derrick Rose (surprise!) injured and Isaiah Thomas on the mend, the smartest option was slotting James at the point, because James is the smartest option for everything. Dwyane shifted to the bench, which is the right spot for him at this point in his career. The Cavalier starters will probably be a repeat of last night, with JR Smith, Jae Crowder, Kevin Love, and Tristan Thompson surrounding Akron’s chosen son.
