Magic Johnson isn’t trying to get the Lakers fined for any more tampering charges
Magic Johnson hasn’t been President of Basketball Operations for the Los Angeles Lakers that long, but he has already started learning from his mistakes. Former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz tried to trick Johnson into a free agency question about NBA superstar LeBron James, but Magic wasn’t having it.

Bravo to that entire panel for somehow keeping it together. Magic made some comments about Paul George coming to the Lakers on the ‘Jimmel Kimmel Live’ talk show, and the franchise was punished with a $500,000 tampering charge. Magic wasn’t about to let that happen again.
The Lakers have looked promising this season despite their youth. Lonzo Ball has had his ups and downs, but that is to be expected from someone who should still be a sophomore in college. They probably won’t make the playoffs this season despite LaVar Ball’s claims, however, they have a bright future especially if they sign a star or two next summer.
LeBron and George have both been mentioned as targets, but there are also players like Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony potentially available. Stay tuned for a banana boat reunion.
Magic is a part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers which is why he was being interviewed by FOX, and he is too smart of a person to make the same error twice. He wasn’t having any of that LeBron question, and he basically laughed his way through the answer.

The Lakers would be most dangerous in the 2018-19 season if they land in the lottery again this summer. The best scenario is that Ball wins Rookie of the Year with the team winning 25 to 30 games.
Kudos to Magic for handling an awkward situation with incredible humor, and we’ll just have to wait and see what LeBron decides to do next July.
