Manchester United lose in a shocker while Tottenham dismantle Liverpool. Here are our updated Premier League interesting rankings.

20. West Brom (Last Week: 20)

West Brom extended their winless streak to seven as they continued their fall down the Premier League table by losing 1-0 away to Southampton on Saturday. In my opinion, they are the perfect last-place interesting rankings team because they are not at all interesting and cannot win a match. Settle in Baggies.

19. Everton (LW: 16)

The Toffees are so bad they made Arsenal look like the Invincibles again. Everton got off to a good start through a Wayne Rooney goal in the 12th minute. They would proceed to give up five goals, and have a player sent off, before picking up a meaningless score in the 93rd minute. Everton moved into the drop zone on goal difference.

18. Stoke (LW: 15)

Stoke are hitting their uninteresting stride. They lost 2-1 at home to bloody Bournemouth on Saturday. The Potters couldn’t overcome the two goals they gave up in two minutes in the first half because they are bad and boring. If anyone can challenge West Brom for last place in these rankings it’s Stoke.

17. West Ham (LW: 10)

The Hammers got blanked at London Stadium, 3-0, by Brighton on Friday. West Ham are one of four Premier League clubs sitting on eight points. They are only one point ahead of 19th-place Bournemouth. In summary, West Ham are not doing so hot.

16. Swansea (LW: 13)

Swansea followed up their nice 2-0 win over Huddersfield last week with a terrible 2-1 loss at home to Leicester this week. They spotted the Foxes an own goal in the first half before allowing the eventual game-winner early in the second. They get points in my book for not allowing The Villain Jamie Vardy to score.

15. Leicester (LW: 19)

The Foxes finally got their second win of the season after seven matches of not winning. Leicester jumped up five spots in the league table after their win away to Swansea. Riyad Mahrez put in a man of the match performance after he saw his cross directed in by Federico Fernandez and then set up a Shinji Okazaki strike. Leicester supporters will be happy to be clear of the relegation zone for now.

14. Bournemouth (LW: 18)

I have a soft spot for Bournemouth – mostly because The Cherries is a fun nickname – so, even though their 2-1 away win over Stoke didn’t get them out of 19th place, I gave them bump in the interesting rankings. Unfortunately for The Cherries, they have to host Chelsea this Saturday.

13. Southampton (LW: 17)

The Saints are doing their best to move up these rankings. Winning helps. Scoring absurd field-spanning goals, and making two players run into each other in the process, like Sofiane Boufal did on Saturday, also helps. That the win was against West Brom doesn’t help as much. Anyway, Southampton currently sit in tenth place ahead of their matchup with Brighton this Sunday.

12. Liverpool (LW: 6)

Hoo boy. I never thought Liverpool would drop so far in these rankings, or in the league table for that matter. They sit in ninth-place in the Premier League after getting molly-whopped, 4-1, by Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday. The Reds have won only three of their nine league games this season and have minus-2 goal difference. Their defense has been atrocious, allowing 16 goals, good for fifth worse in the Premier League.

11. Arsenal (LW: 12)

The Gunners have won three of their last four league matches, and looked great against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, pouring in five goals. Of course the key part of that last sentence was “Everton” because Everton are not good at all. Still seeing Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez all on the scoresheet will delight the Arsenal faithful. Jack Wilshere even got into the act with a lovely assist. They have a chance to crack the top four should they beat Swansea this weekend. Are the Gunners becoming interesting?

10. Crystal Palace (LW: 7)

The Eagles appear to have two modes this season: score zero goals and lose or beat Chelsea. They only face Chelsea one more time this season so they should really find another mode. Crystal Palace lost 1-0 away to Newcastle on Saturday, remaining firmly in last place. Unsurprisingly, they managed zero shots on target. What a crazy team this is.

9. Burnley (LW: 8)

You can’t punish Burnley too harshly for losing to Manchester City at the Etihad. They held City to three goals! The Clarets are now in eighth place on 13 points, but are only three points of out the top four. They will host Newcastle on Monday.

8. Newcastle (LW: 9)

Newcastle swapped spots in these rankings with Burnley after beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at St. James’ Park on Saturday. Former Borussia Dortmund loanee, and now official Newcastle player, Mikel Morino scored his first Premier League goal to secure all three point for the Magpies. Can seventh-place Newcastle make a home in the top half?

7. Brighton (LW: 11)

Glen Murray scored a brace to lead the Seagulls to a huge 3-0 away win against West Ham under the lights on Friday. Brighton’s third win of the season bumped them up to 12th place in the league table. They will hope to continue their climb as they host Southampton this Sunday.

6. Watford (LW: 3)

The Hornets had upset on their minds as they went up 2-1 in the 49th minute against Chelsea on Saturday. But Watford would give up three goals before the final whistle and leave Stamford Bridge pointless. They are still in a respectable sixth place and get the added bonus of hosting Stoke on Saturday.

5. Huddersfield (LW: 14)

Holy Huddersfield! Just when I had given up on them, the Terriers go and beat Manchester United. Two first-half goals was enough for Huddersfield to secure their famous win at John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday. American international Danny Williams went the full 90 minutes. They move up to 11th place and now have as many Premier League wins as Liverpool this season. The Terriers play the Reds on Saturday. Can they bring the magic for the second straight week?

4. Manchester United (LW: 2)

United fall out of the top two in our interesting rankings for the first time this season. It was unlikely that the Red Devils would go undefeated, but who could’ve predicted their first loss would come at the hands of Huddersfield? I’m sure Jose Mourinho never expected it, which makes it that much sweeter. United controlled nearly 80 percent of the possession, but could only manage three shots on goal, one of which was converted by Marcus Rashford. They remain in second place, but host Spurs on Saturday, who are breathing down their necks in third place.

3. Chelsea (LW: 4)

Chelsea move back into the top four after a come from behind 4-2 win over Watford Saturday at Stamford Bridge. Pedro opened the scoring in the 12th minute, but the Blues would give up two unanswered either side of halftime. Substitute Michy Batshuayi’s brace book-ended a Cesar Azpilicueta header to give the home side a two goal victory.  The win stopped a two-match losing streak for Chelsea. They will expect to collect all three points at Bournemouth this coming Saturday.

2. Tottenham (LW: 5)

Back-to-back home wins has completely erased any fear of a Wembley curse for Tottenham. Spurs made it four wins on the bounce after dismantling Liverpool 4-1 on Sunday. Harry Kane, human flamethrower, scored a brace, naturally, and added an assist. Tottenham are now level on points (20) with second-place United, who they visit in what is a giant matchup this Saturday.

1. Manchester City (LW: 1)

Ho hum, just another multi-goal win for City. Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane were once again on the scoresheet as they thrashed Burnley 3-0. City have scored 32 goals this season, 10 more than the next closest team (United). They are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table and get to travel to West Brom this Saturday. The over/under for City goals in that one should be set at 9.5.
