4. Georgia Bulldogs

Rank: 3, Opponent: Florida Gators

On paper, the Georgia Bulldogs should beat the brakes off of the Florida Gators. Kirby Smart’s team, by my estimation, is the second best team in the country. What’s more, they have played up to their potential this season time and again, sporting a balanced and potent offense in addition to a lethal defense. On top of that, they are playing a Florida team that has been a letdown time and again to this point, hence their 3-3 record coming into this matchup.

But if there’s one thing that college football and SEC fans will tell you, it’s never underestimate what can happen when these two teams meet in Jacksonville.

Unofficially known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, crazy things tend to be in order whenever Florida and Georgia renew their rivalry annually. Whenever you think that game should be a blowout, it’s close. And when it should be a nail-biter, it’s a rout. That’s just how these things work, for whatever reason.

Despite their struggles this season, Jim McElwain and Florida are far from being an untalented bunch. They are the Florida Gators — that comes with having a talent-laden roster. It’s just been a matter of discipline and putting everything together. If there’s ever a time to do it, it’d be against a Georgia team riding high and hoping for a big win over their rivals.
