LaVar Ball spoke the Lakers victory into existence

LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 25: Lonzo Ball
LOS ANGELES, CA - OCTOBER 25: Lonzo Ball

LaVar Ball is once again speaking things into existence.

The Washington Wizards were in Los Angeles to take on the Lakers on Wednesday, and John Wall said he was going to show rookie Lonzo Ball “no mercy”. Wall would end up with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists. Not a bad night, but it looks like mercy was shown.

Lonzo on the other end ended with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. He shot 2-for-11 from the floor including 0-for-5 on 3-pointers,, but did other things to stay involved in the game including the assist to Julius Randle to bring the Lakers within one late in the fourth quarter, and the assist to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to put the Lakers up by one in overtime.

Lakers went on to win 102-to-99, but that’s not the big story here. The Big Baller Brand struck back, and LaVar has once again silenced all the naysayers. On Monday LaVar was asked about the upcoming game with the Wizards, and he said the Wizards had better be ready, because Lonzo wasn’t losing twice in the same week.

Not only did he say Lonzo wasn’t losing twice in the same, but he even called the Lakers comeback in the third quarter. NBC Sports Washington put LaVar Ball on the air, and had a short interview with him. He wasn’t worried about John Wall’s multiple All-Star appearances, because you still have to play, and “you can get beat on any given night”.

When asked about the Lakers 10-point deficit at the time he was confident. Saying they still had time, and to even come back and see him after they get the win. Well at the time the Lakers had a win probability that was borderline zero. I’m not saying LaVar Ball is all knowing, but he has yet to lie to us that’s all I know.

LaVar Ball is hands down the most interesting person in the NBA, and he’s not even on the floor. Everyone says that LaVar opening his mouth is causing all sorts of problems for him oldest son, but by the looks of it Lonzo isn’t phased by his fathers antics.

After a horrible debut, and LaVar having his interview with ESPN. Lonzo went out against the Phoenix Suns and nearly dropped a triple-double. Fast-forward to Wednesday after Marcin Gortat said Wall would torture him for 48 minutes, and Wall said he’d show no mercy; Lonzo went out and made winning plays to help his team get another victory.

The Lakers have a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. At home against the Toronto Raptors, and on the road against the Utah Jazz. Seeing as Lonzo doesn’t lose twice in the same week I guess we can chalk those up as victories right?
