It could be the last stand for many coaches on the hot seat in college football during Week 9. These five coaches need a win in the worst way.

With Week 9 of the college football season finally here, it’s do or die time for many of college football’s head coaches. The tipping point of the season has passed for most and salvaging what they can is all that is seemingly left on the table at this point for those on the hot seat.

For some coaches and especially one in particular, this is indeed the last stand. If there isn’t a win on the board this week, then there’s a strong chance programs move on as the season hits its latter stages.

There’s always a chance to pull a miracle out with not much time left, but it isn’t looking good for many to say the least. Here are five coaches on the hot seat that need a win in Week 9 of the college football season.

5. Kalani Sitake

The BYU Cougars are an absolute mess right now. After going 9-4 last season, Kalani has watched his program completely collapse. Despite it just being his second season, it appears much of his success came with what Bronco Mendenhall left over.

If the Cougars don’t want this to become a growing trend, Sitake could have a very short stay in Provo. At 1-7, his team won’t be going bowling this season and is looking for anything they can to finish strong.

Up next is a game against San Jose State. If the slide continues and the losses keep piling up, the Cougars might be forced to make a quick decision that they probably weren’t expecting to make this season.
