Raiders at Bills: Preview, prediction, odds and pick
We’re getting ready to see the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills square off in Orchard Park. Which team will prevail in this contest?
The Oakland Raiders were expected to be in the running for an appearance in Super Bowl LII. And they still may, considering we are not quite yet through halfway of the season. Last week, they snapped a four-game losing streak with a scintillating 31-30 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills were thought to be a team not interested in winning this season. That ridiculous notion was put to bed immediately this season as new head coach Sean McDermott and his defense has helped lead the club to a 4-2 start.
This is one of those games that we may look at late in the season when it comes to tie-breakers. It’s a key conference match-up between two clubs that have postseason aspirations. So who comes out the winner?
Odds
Line: Bills (-2.5)
Over/Under: 45.5
You will notice that the Bills are listed as a 2.5-point favorite via the consensus at SportsBook Review. It’s certainly understandable considering that this club is a perfect 3-0 at home this season while the Raiders sport a 1-2 road ledger. But does that over/under (45.5) look a little low?

Led by quarterback Derek Carr, the Oakland Raiders are more than capable of putting points on the board. But they have been erratic, to say the least, totaling 102 points in their three wins and a combined 53 points in four setbacks. Look for Carr to take advantage of the Buffalo Bills’ secondary on occasion but also look for McDermott’s pass rush to have an impact. And some late heroics by kicker Steven Hauschka closes the deal.
Pick: Bills 20, Raiders 17
