23. Denver Broncos: Trade for Jimmy Garoppolo

Is this the time Jimmy Garoppolo finally gets traded? It’s unlikely, but you never know. The Patriots almost made a deal to send Garoppolo to the Browns early in the offseason and given their needs on the defensive side of the ball, a trade is still in the realm of possibility. A  suitor could be fellow AFC rivals Denver Broncos.

After a hot start to the season, the Broncos have cooled off and then some. They’ve lost three of their lost four games and there’s concern surrounding the offense. All the blame doesn’t fall on the man under center but Trevor Siemian is not the future for this team at quarterback. He’s merely a placeholder until the Broncos can find a suitable option.

Siemian was a seventh-round pick for a reason. He started off the season hot but has thrown just two touchdowns to five interceptions in his last four games. The defense has been able to keep the team afloat for now but the offense isn’t pulling their weight.

A trade between both of these teams would make sense. The Broncos need a quarterback and the Patriots desperately need help on defense. Garoppolo is a significant upgrade over any quarterback the Broncos currently have. In limited playing times, he’s been extremely impressive and has had the chance to learn under Tom Brady for three years. Brady seems to be content with playing another two to three years and at some point, Garoppolo has to be given a chance to play.

I’m not sure how fond Bill Belichick and John Elway are of each other, but if both teams benefit from a trade, then why not make a move?
