The Colts and Bengals were both in desperate need of a win when Week 8 got started. Which team got back on track with the victory?
The Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals aren’t the two best teams in the league, but the two put on a show on both sides of the ball in an entertaining Week 8 battle on Sunday.
The Colts had their chance for a late-game comeback on a drive to potentially win it with a field goal, but fell just short and lost a heartbreaking 24-23 game on the road against the Bengals in the process, with Jacoby Brissett unable to get it done offensively.
The two teams put up plenty of highlights in all phases of the game, and you can check out some of the action from the battle below:

Three Stars
1. Andy Dalton
In a close game, Andy Dalton showed up for the Bengals, throwing for almost 250 yards and two touchdowns to lead the team’s offense. The team had looked skiddish in previous weeks on offense, and stepped up in a big way when needed today in a close game.
2. Jack Doyle
After not doing much all season, Jack Doyle had himself a solid game, with 12 receptions on the day for 121 yards to lead the Colts passing attack. Although his team lost, Doyle’s performance was a highlight in a disappointing day for the Colts that fell just short in the final few minutes on their comeback attempt.
3. Bengals defense
This one doesn’t have anyone specific, but defensive points and a key stop from the Bengals defense at the end of the game on a potential drive for a comeback win from the Colts put the dagger in for the win at home for Cincy.

Odds
The Bengals were favored by a hefty -10 heading into Sunday’s matchup, according to SportsBook Review, and couldn’t match the spread in their close win. However, they’ll surely take the victory, regardless.
Next Week
The Colts will travel to play the Houston Texans in Week 9 in a divisional matchup, while the Bengals will head on the road for a battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
