Despite winning four consecutive games, Real Madrid are third in La Liga, four points behind Barcelona. Girona are 15th, picking up only nine points in their first nine games.
The table does not lie for 15th place Girona, who were promoted to La Liga this season. The club sit in the bottom third in goals and goal differential after nine games. Cristhian Stuani has been a bright spot for the club offensively. Girona signed the striker from Middlesbrough after they were relegated from the Premier League. In his first season with the club, Stuani has scored four of the club’s nine goals.

Real Madrid got off to a slow start by their high standards, struggling without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo. While Ronaldo has scored 10 goals in all competitions, he has scored only once in five La Liga game. Manager Zinédine Zidane will have to adjust his lineup with injuries hitting Madrid. Keylor Navas, Mateo Kovacic, and Daniel Carvajal will all miss Sunday’s game. Gareth Bale could also miss the game with a calf injury, but he has yet to be ruled out.
