Welcome into Week 8, where fantasy football sleeper WRs are a little tougher to come by. There are still some receivers out there that could come up big for you in a tight spot.
This week is one of the two worst fantasy football weeks in terms of bye weeks. Thatās going to make us dig a little deeper this week than normal.Ā As always, weāll start with a quick breakdown of hits and misses from the past week.
Week 7 players/Receptions/Yards/TDs
10. Cole Beasley ā 1/24/0 ā Miss
9. Eric Decker ā 0/0/0 ā Miss
8. Mohammed Sanu ā 6/65/0 ā Hit
7. Nelson Agholor ā 4/45/1 ā Hit
6. Zay Jones ā 2/17/0 ā Miss
5. Aldrick Robinson ā 1/15/0 ā Miss
4. Ted Ginn ā 7/141/0 ā Hit
3. Allen Hurns ā 5/101/0 ā Hit
2. Tyler Lockett ā 4/29/0/15 Rushing yards ā Miss
1. Cooper Kupp ā 4/51/1 ā Hit
Another week, another 50 percent hit rate. That likely seems average but with the volatility of wide receiver, 5 out of 10 could be a lot worse.Ā This is a difficult week to pick sleeper wide receivers. There are six teams on a bye:
- Arizona Cardinals
- Green Bay Packers
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Los Angeles Rams
- New York Giants
- Tennessee Titans
With six teams not available, owners are going to be forced to put players in their lineup theyāre just not comfortable with. Itās not meant to be a cop-out, but this is a challenging week to hit some good sleepers.
The ownership percentages might be a little higher this week than normal but weāll do our very best to get you players that you could play if needed. Itās important to stress that most ofĀ these players may not be the most ideal. Theyāre only in case of an absolute must-start scenario.

10. Kendall Wright, Chicago Bears
Ownership % ā Yahoo 8%, ESPN 11%
This will be rare in this column: weāre suggesting you play a wideout on a team that just attempted only 7 passes the previous week. the Bears have made it very clear they want to play old-school football.
Count on the defense and then expect the running game to do all the heavy lifting. That worked out last week against Carolina at home. This week is going to be different when the Bears visit the New Orleans Saints.
The Chicago defense is pretty feisty at home. It would be foolish to expect the same performance in the Superdome versus QB Drew Brees and the high-powered Saints offense. Theyāre going to struggle to keep the Saints off the board.
In turn, that means the Bears will have to throw the ball. The offense doesnāt have too many weapons to turn to when they throw. Itās hard to envision a scenario where the Chicago can keep up with New Orleans.
The Saints have an NFL offense while the Bears resembles more of a college offense. Wright could possibly be the best of the bunch and heĀ stands out as the receiver to take a flier on in this matchup.
