Week 8 is almost in the books, and we’ve updated the race to the top (or bottom) of the 2018 NFL Draft order.

Week 8 is almost in the books, and the race to the top (or bottom) of the 2018 NFL draft pecking order is in full swing. While the top five may not have changed, some teams that we thought for sure would be in the race have actually improved in the past couple of weeks.

So, if you searching for a sign from the NFL Gods on who will possibly have the No. 1 pick in next year’s NFL Draft, look no further and check out the updated draft order of who we think will pick first.

First, the top (bottom) 10:

1. Clevland Browns (0-8)
2. San Francisco 49ers (0-8)
3. New York Giants (1-6)
4. Indianapolis Colts (2-6)
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5)
6. Oakland Raiders (3-5)
7. Chicago Bears (3-5)
8. New York Jets (3-5)
9. Los Angeles Chargers (3-5)
10. Arizona Cardinals (3-4)

OK, so it’s pretty safe to say that the Browns, 49ers, Giants, and the Colts are in the top four. The Browns and Niners have pretty much settled into their role of being the NFL’s doormats. The Giants have disappointed everybody. Remember, this was the team that most NFL pundits were predicting to be the NFL East champs. Look at them now? Look, I know it’s not what Big Blue Nation wants to hear, but it’s time to blow this team up.

As for the Colts? When the most exciting thing that has happened all season was the Vice President walking out after the Niners kneeled during the anthem, you know your season is long gone.

The next 10?

11. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)
12. Houston Texans (3-4)
13. Washington Redskins (3-4)
14. Denver Broncos (3-3)
15. Detroit Lions (3-3)
16. Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
17. Tennessee Titans (4-3)
18. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)
19. Miami Dolphins (4-3)
20. Atlanta Falcons (4-3)

Pop quiz: Out of this bunch, who has the best chance to move into the top 10? If your answer is the Dolphins, Bengals, Redskins, and Texans, you would be correct. After the Ravens beatdown of Miami on Thursday night, there is no way that team is getting better. The Bengals are just treading water, the Texans defense has completely collapsed without J.J. Watt, and the Redskins are heading into a portion of their schedule where not even God may have mercy on them.

The next five?

21. Green Bay Packers (4-3)
22. Dallas Cowboys (4-3)
23. Carolina Panthers (5-3)
24. New Orleans Saints (5-2)
25. Los Angeles Rams (5-2)

I’ll say it right now: If the Packers don’t sign Colin Kaepernick, we’ll see them in the top 10 really soon. As for everyone else? The Saints, Rams, and Cowboys have all improved from their early season sleepwalks. The Panthers are still a wildcard here. They’re too inconsistent to say that they have a shot of not moving up in the draft order.

So let’s close this thing out by rounding out the bottom (top) six teams in the 2018 NFL Draft order.

26. Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
27. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
28. Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)
29. Buffalo Bills (5-2)
30. New England Patriots (6-2)
31. Minnesota Vikings (6-2)
32. Philadelphia Eagles (7-1)

There’s still plenty of football left, but the draft order seems to be taking shape.
