Vikings at Browns: Highlights, score and recap

The Vikings and Browns somehow had a close game across the pond in Twickenham, England, on Sunday. Which team came out with the win?

Although the Cleveland Browns looked like they could give the Minnesota Vikings a scare when they got started in Twickenham, England, on Sunday morning, but the Vikings showed why they’re atop the AFC North once they got going.

The Vikings actually found themselves down at one point in the game, heading into the half down 13-12 and on upset alert across the pond. However, they finished the job with a hot second half, outscoring the Browns 21-3 to pull out the 33-16 win.

Three Stars

1. Jerick McKinnon

The Vikings had a balanced attack on the ground and over the air to take down the Browns, and the main factor in both elements of the offense was from running back Jerick McKinnon. He hit pay dirt on the ground for the Vikings offense, and also was one of the team’s leading receivers tied with the most targets on the day in the team’s receiving corps. He was a star on the day and led the offense in the victory.

2. Adam Thielen

Adam Thielen looks like he enjoyed the London spotlight, as was evident by the soccer celebration he pulled out after his key touchdown in the game (as seen above). Although McKinnon had more receptions on the day, Thielen made the most of the opportunity, recording almost 100 receiving yards on just five catches to help propel the Vikings.

3. Case Keenum

The Vikings quarterback really pushed the team forward, as Case Keenum picked up the pace in the second half to get the team going. With touchdown passes to Thielen and Kyle Rudolph on the day, Keenum put up some solid numbers and stepped up in Sam Bradford’s absence.

Odds

The Vikings were favored by 7.5 points, according to SportsBook Review, and, despite an early scare, managed to meet the expectations set for them in the big win over the Browns.

Next Week

After the big win in England, the Vikings will move on to play the Washington Redskins on the road in Week 10 with their 6-2 record, while the Browns will take a week off and remain winless until they’re back in action on Nov. 12 against the Detroit Lions on the road.
