Kevin Spacey offers apology, comes out amid sexual assault allegations.
Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey is speaking out after actor Anthony Rapp accused him of sexual assault. In an interview with Buzzfeed, Rapp claimed that Spacey made a sexual advance on him when he was 14 years old.
Rapp told the publication that Spacey had tried to “get with” him “sexually” back in 1986 when Spacey was 26. CNN reports that the actor soon spoke out on the allegations via his Twitter account, revealing that he had no memory of the alleged incident. “It would have been more than 30 years ago,” Spacey said. However, he did reveal that he was “horrified” to hear Rapp’s story.
"“If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.”"
In addition to apologizing for his alleged behavior, Spacey also opened up about his sexuality, revealing that Rapp’s story has “encouraged” him to “address other things” about his life. The actor went on to say that he’s had romantic relationships with both men and women in his life, but that he is now choosing to “live as a gay man.”

Meanwhile, Rapp says that he was inspired to come out with his story after a month of other stars revealing their sexual assault claims, many against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
"“I came forward with my story, standing on the shoulders of the many courageous women and men who have been speaking out, to shine a light and hopefully make a difference, as they have done for me. Everything I wanted to say about my experience is in that article, and I have no further comment about it at this time.”"
Spacey has made no further comments on the allegations at this time.
