Of course Joel Embiid was at Game 5, he’s the G.O.A.T. (Video)

We need to build a social media Hall of Fame simply so Joel Embiid can be the first inductee.
Game 5 of the World Series was one of the best sporting events ever, full stop. 25-runs were scored over the course of 10 innings as the Houston Astros took a 3-2 series lead as things head back to Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The game didn’t end until almost 1 am ET in Houston and fans refused to leave Minute Maid Park. The back-and-forth nature of the game kept everyone at home glued to the television for five hours — that’s right people watched baseball watched for five hours.
It was an instant classic, for more than one reason. Aside from the fact that it’s one of the greatest baseball games ever played, Joel Embiid found a way to tie his legacy to Game 5. With the 76ers in Houston to play the Rockets on Monday, Embiid and his teammates decided to go to the World Series.
The rest is history.
Of course he was at Game 5, why wouldn’t he be? Joel Embiid is like air, he’s everywhere. Some thoughts:
- Embiid is joyously celebrating the win, despite wearing a Dodgers jersey
- That’s really my only thought because it’s so Embiid that it’s perfection.
It’s not just that Embiid was at the game, it’s that he captured the moment. The atmosphere inside Minute Maid Park was unreal, and the collective catharsis that swept through the building was a once in a lifetime moment.

The fact that Embiid was there to capture it proves he has a larger purpose in the universe than to simply play basketball. He’s the G.O.A.T., and this is just more evidence of that.
