MItch Hyatt

Offensive Tackle, Clemson

The Carolina Panthers picked up a big win this past Sunday, as they took down division rival Tampa Bay in a huge NFC South game. The Panthers have played their way into the playoff picture, and would be a Wildcard team if the season ended tomorrow. Cam Newton and company have come a long way from their disappointing 2016 campaign, and appear ready to make a run in a very tough NFC in the second half of the year.

As they look at their roster, there are some holes that need to be filled. One such hole is along the offensive line, where they could look to bring in some talent at the tackle position this offseason. Mitch Hyatt from Clemson has been protecting the blindside of the likes of Deshaun Watson and Kelly Bryant for the past couple of seasons, and he has the talent to stay on the left side of the line at the next level.

If the Panthers want to continuously be a playoff team, they have to make sure that Cam Newton is around for the long haul. He has taken way too many hits during his career, and if they are not careful, the next one could be the one that ends it. They have a ton of talent on both side of the ball, and adding a player of Hyatt’s caliber would keep the offensive line as a strength for years to come.
