Week 9 brings another challenging week for fantasy owners. Bye weeks have people in a pinch and we’ll sort through the start and sits for the week.

Before we dive into Week 9, we have to talk about what happened in Seattle this past week. Both passing games for Houston and Seattle went NUTS and racked up a ton of fantasy points. I gave the advice to sit QB Deshaun Watson and WR Will Fuller this past week. I believe in accountability in my work and for the people who benched those players, all I can say is I missed that call. I won’t get them all right but I’ll always own up when I whiff. There’s no doubt I missed very badly on the Houston offense last week. I stand by the process of why I felt both players should be sat and hope to bring you better results this week. Let’s get to work!

GLENDALE, AZ – OCTOBER 01: Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald

Start: Larry Fitzgerald, WR – Arizona Cardinals

Maybe it seems obvious that you should start one of the best receivers of all time. There could be quite a few owners who shy away for Fitzgerald this week due to the Cards losing QB Carson Palmer to a broken arm. Relying on QB Drew Stanton to actually do good things with the football isn’t the best thing for real football or fantasy. Fitzgerald is still a starter at least for this week.

For one thing, Arizona is coming off their bye. They’ve had extra time to prepare for this game and to get Stanton ready to be the starter. That extra time is invaluable for a backup QB that normally wouldn’t be working with the first-team offense. Secondly, Stanton doesn’t have many other great options to lean on. RB David Johnson doesn’t appear close to returning. Secondary WR John Brown is more of a deep threat. Fitzgerald is likely going to be pummeled with targets. They won’t be the highest quality but Fitzgerald can still make it work some weeks. Playing against the 49ers is going to be a fine spot for the GOAT. Start him up one more time.
