KANSAS CITY, MO – OCTOBER 02: Quarterback Kirk Cousins /

Sit: Kirk Cousins, QB – Washington Redskins

This isn’t just recency bias. Cousins was in the middle of a fantastic fantasy season before this past week. He really struggled versus the Dallas Cowboys in part because his offensive line was in tatters. Three starters were missing and the Cowboys took advantage of it. Even if Cousins had been productive this past week, it would be time to pump the brakes this week.

Anytime a team goes into Seattle, it’s time to find another option. Sure, Seattle could still give up a big game to a QB like they did to Deshaun Watson and the Texans. Cousins is an excellent quarterback and has enough options in the passing game that he doesn’t have to force feed any one player. The other side of that is Cousins doesn’t have game breaker receivers like DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.

Terrelle Pryor has been a colossal flop and former first-round pick Josh Doctson has yet to find his footing. It’s just not smart to try to pick on Seattle when they’re at home. It’s very hard to envision the Seahawk defense getting rocked for a second straight week. There’s no reason to expect last week and this week to be anything else but bumps in the road for Cousins and the Washington offense. There will be better weeks ahead.
