Phoenix Suns (Projected Record: 25-57)

The Suns projected to be a trainwreck and they have not disappointed to start the season. They’ve already fired head coach Earl Watson after a disastrous 0-3 start and their best player, Eric Bledsoe, has been sent home and will be traded for what will almost certainly be a pittance of a return for a player of his talents, given the public nature of his break with the team.

Phoenix will almost certainly end up even worse than the projected 25 wins I have them set for here, given that I had him projected to play over 2300 minutes, and now he will be playing close to zero minutes for them going forward.

Rookie Josh Jackson’s expected performance level puts him amongst the best rookies in his class, but that’s not enough to really move the needle as rookies tend not to be super impactful unless they are true outliers.

Devin Booker is the star of the team, but he’s a one dimensional scorer who puts up numbers on middling efficiency, doesn’t create much for his teammates, and plays zippo defense. As a result, my RPM projections are skeptical of his ability to impact winning this season.

Add it all up and the Suns look like perhaps the worst team in the league this season.
