Liverpool will expect to win this match, and win handsomely. They won 7-0 when these teams met in Slovenia two weeks ago. Eight players scored and/or assisted a goal as Liverpool ran riot and went top of Group E.
But Jurgen Klopp’s team are nothing if not inconsistent. They followed the record Champions League away win by being hammered 4-1 at Tottenham. Saturday’s 3-0 win over Huddersfield will have helped, but it’s always hard to know which Liverpool will turn up.
Even if Klopp rings the changes, the Reds should have far too much for the Slovenian champions. They will hope for a confidence boosting high scoring victory, and will probably get it. It will also set them up nicely for match week five where they face the toughest match in the group: Sevilla away.

Maribor will have been stung by their thrashing in the last meeting. They have at least won their two leagues game since and kept a clean sheet both times. It hasn’t been enough to take them top of the division though. They are currently second on goal difference, despite not losing a league game yet this season.
