The 2017 baseball season came to a thrilling conclusion as the Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the 2017 World Series to bring home the championship for the first time in their 56-year franchise history.
The Astros got on the board first and held onto the lead through the entire game. Alex Bregman got things going in the top of the 1st inning when a throwing error put him at second base while George Springer scored. Jose Altuve grounded out, but it was enough to bring in Bregman and give the Astros a 2-0 lead in the 1st.
The 2nd inning saw starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr ground out to score Brian McCann. Springer, who has been hot throughout the World Series, hit his fourth home run in four straight World Series games. His two-run blast put the āStros up 5-0.
Los Angeles finally got on the board in the bottom of the 6th when Andre Ethier sent a grounder to right field, scoring Joc Pederson.
Astros starter Lance McCullers Jr went 2.1 innings and allowed three hits and zero runs while LAās Yu Darvish only lasted 1.2 innings after allowing three hits and five runs, four of them earned runs. Charlie Morton, usually a starter, finished off the Dodgers by throwing the final four innings and allowing only a single run.

George Springer, CF, Astros: Springer has been amazing in this series. Game 7 saw him deliver his fourth home run in four straight World Series games.
Lance McCullers Jr, P, Astros: Mc Cullers saw 2.1 innings of work in Game 7, allowing three hits and three strikeouts. He also had an RBI for good measure.
Brad Peacock, P, Astros: Peacock delivered another two innings of solid relief in Game 7, with two strikeouts while allowing just one hit. Peacock was instrumental in keeping the Dodgers off the board early in the game.
