After suffering a knee injury, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney commented on his former quarterback, Deshaun Watson.

Sometimes, we don’t always get the endings that we want to some stories, and unfortunately for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, that will be the case in regards to his rookie season. On Thursday, it was revealed the rookie sensation out of Clemson will have his year cut short after suffering a torn ACL in practice that will, of course, require surgery.

Watson is one of the most well-liked players in the league, and he was also one of the most well-liked players when he was tearing it up in the college ranks for the Clemson Tigers. Because of his play under center, Watson helped lead head coach Dabo Swinney and Clemson to two straight College Football Playoff National Championship games, winning the whole thing last year by taking down Alabama.

Swinney is definitely no stranger to Watson and his ability to come back from adversity, and shortly after it was announced the Texans quarterback was done for the season, his former head coach issued this amazing statement.

Harkening back to the 2014 season and what happened there in the South Carolina win is the perfect analogy to show off the tough player that Watson is, which should let everyone know he will be back and better than ever come next season.

Watson is considered the best player in the history of the Clemson football program for all he accomplished, and he was no doubt a key part in helping Swinney become recognized as one of the best college football coaches in the game the past few years.

Deshaun Watson will return full force, and you know Swinney is telling the truth when he echoes that sentiment as well.
