The Houston Astros will celebrate their 2017 World Series victory with a big parade and celebration at Houston’s City Hall.

The World Champion Houston Astros won the World Series in Los Angeles while many of their loyal fans watched from the big screen at Minute Maid Park. Though the fans were with their team in spirit, they will be able to show their appreciation for the Astros on Friday when the entire Astros organization parades through the city streets.

As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas, so expect to see a Texas-sized celebration for the Houston Astros as they bring home the franchise’s first world championship title in its 56 year history. The festivities begin at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. Central with a parade that will carry the team, coaches and members of the organization down Lamar Street with their families.

The parade will wrap up at City Hall, where Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner will join other city officials in a huge celebration. Fans should be advised that traffic will start to be diverted from the area starting at 1 p.m. local time.

Close to 17000 fans packed Minute Maid Stadium to watch Game 7 together and the place went nuts as soon as the last out was recorded.

With the win, fans started flocking to their local stores to buy official Houston Astros World Champions gear, with hundreds of fans standing in line to get inside.

More than that, though, the win was a huge victory for a city that has been through so much after Hurricane Harvey caused widespread damage across the state.

The Astros celebrated the spirit of their hometown with Houston Strong patches on their uniforms during the World Series, keeping Houston close to their hearts even when they won the title so far from home.
