Brock Osweiler will be under center for the Denver Broncos Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, the best team in football.

The NFL season is entering Week 9, and incredibly, Brock Osweiler will be starting for the Denver Broncos. The Broncos made the move to Osweiler after a poor showing by Trevor Siemian on Monday night, as his play forced their hand. Osweiler will be paid nearly $900,000 dollars to play in this game, but the money will come from the Cleveland Browns, who we will get to later.

Kelvin Benjamin became one of the biggest trades of the deadline this week, as the Carolina Panthers shipped him to Buffalo for two draft picks in 2018. Benjamin was the top wideout for the Panthers, who are actually in a Wild Card spot right now, so the trade is a bit of a head-scratcher. For the Bills, they add an elite wideout to their 5-2 roster, and all of a sudden they are a legitimate contender in the AFC this season.

Brian Hoyer was released by the San Francisco 49ers this week after the team traded for New England Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. It did not take Hoyer long to find a new home, as he signed a three-year deal with those same Patriots on Wednesday. Hoyer has experience in the Pats system, having played for them from 2009-11, so adding him brings some good depth to a depleted quarterback position in New England.

The Cleveland Browns cannot even trade right, and that was evident on Tuesday. The Browns and Cincinnati Bengals were set on a trade to bring A.J. McCarron to Cleveland, but the Browns did not  get the paperwork into the NFL on time. Apparently they though the paper they sent to the Bengals was good enough, and when they tried to appeal to the NFL to let the trade go through, they were denied. Ah, the life of a Cleveland Browns fan.

Staying with the Browns, it looks like the NFL is reinstating troubled wide receiver Josh Gordon. Gordon, who has not playing in a regular season game since 2014, will be reinstated on a conditional basis to start. What that means is he can attend meetings, do conditioning drills, and do some individual workouts. He could be activated at the earliest on Nov. 27.
