It was a long road to the championship title. After finishing the regular season with an American League best record of 101-61, the Astros faced off against the Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series. The ‘Stros won the ALDS 3-1 over Boston and then moved on to face the New York Yankees in the Championship Series. The ALCS went seven games but the Astros claimed a 4-3 series victory, winning the American League pennant and heading to the World Series for only the second time in franchise history.

The Astros traveled to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers in LA. By Game 3 the Astros had a 2-1 lead before the Dodgers tied the series with a 6-2 win in Game 4, followed by a thrilling 13-12 Astros victory in Game 5, a game that will go down in history as one of the most exciting (not to mention longest) games in World Series history. In the end, Houston went into Game 7 with a vision and they did not falter, coming away with a huge 5-1 win to claim the world championship.
