The Houston Astros have clinched their first ever World Series win, and Twitter was all over it, as usual.
One of the most exciting World Series to date is finally over. The Houston Astros have defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers to become World Series champions for the first time in franchise history.

The game started off with a bang after the Astros scored five runs in just the first two innings. Of course, Dodgers fans on Twitter had an absolute meltdown
Sometimes you need to tip your cap. The Astros just made less mistakes. Congrats to the city of Houston..Fans, you deserve it. #WorldSeries

Clayton Kershaw can't blow the lead if the Dodgers never go ahead. #WorldSeries pic.twitter.com/I3lfTMBf1U

This is so crazy! This city will be wild tomorrow when we win! #WorldSeries #abc13

But then the Dodgers brought in three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and hope was restored.

1-2-3 for Kershaw. I really have no words right now. Probably should have started this game. #WorldSeries #Game7

But despite the excellent pitching by Kershaw, the Dodgers were unable to add even a single run to the scoreboard … and Dodgers fans sunk back into the World Series depression they felt in Games 2 and 5.

Kershaw is the only thing that's keeping LA in this game #WorldSeries

No team in #WorldSeries history has ever come back from a 5-run deficit in a Game 7.

some many daggers!! I still cant believe Dodgers havent scored yet. it feels like the game is tied.. well, my stress level feels like that

Dodgers need a pinch hitter? I've got just the guy. pic.twitter.com/BO7JU37m7l

As the sixth inning drew to a close, the Dodgers were still not on the board, and a World Series victory for the Dodgers appeared to be impossible.
I'd leave now. Gotta beat the traffic. #WorldSeries

But then Andre Ethier stepped up to the plate and suddenly the Dodgers had life again.

Dre Day!!! Let’s go!!!! #Game7 #WorldSeries

But the rally the Dodgers so desperately needed derailed with only one run batted in before heading to the top of the seventh with Kershaw out and Kenley Jansen in.
If leaving men on base counted for something the Dodgers would be winning by a lot 😟#worldseries

Jansen in the 7th??

This must be one of those “high leverage outings.” #WorldSeries
Getting on base hasn't been the issue for the #Dodgers it's bringing them home. 8 runners have been left stranded.#WorldSeries

The difference in this game is the “want” Astros just want it more #WorldSeries
— Yohay (@lilyoohoo01) November 2, 2017
Granted I’d feel differently if I were an Astros fan, but this game has been kind of a dud compared with the rest of this #WorldSeries
— Mike Thompson (@MMThomp) November 2, 2017
Fun Fact: The Dodgers have had more at bats with runners in scoring position in this game than any other game in the WS. They have one run. pic.twitter.com/7btLDD9Hhp

A potential dud in Game 7 doesn't take away from one of the most exciting World Series ever. Just saying.

Mary Hart bailed out early. On camera. #Sad
— Howard Cole (@Howard_Cole) November 2, 2017
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the Dodgers’ year and the game ended 5-1 making it a historic series on all accounts.
