We’re getting ready to see the Philadelphia Eagles host the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon. Which team will prevail in this contest?

For the third straight week, the Philadelphia Eagles will be playing a home game. In the span of seven days, the Birds defeated the Washington Redskins (34-24) on a Monday night and then followed that up with a 33-10 conquest of the San Francisco 49ers.

So why would we think that things will be any different this week when the slumping Denver Broncos come to town? First-year head coach Vance Joseph has seen three straight losses after a 3-1 start. And struggling quarterback Trevor Siemian will take a seat this week in favor of Brock Osweiler.

Sounds like an interesting affair in the City of Brotherly Love.

Odds

Odds: Eagles (-8)

Over/Under: 43.5

Pederson’s Birds are more than a touchdown favorite to win their seventh consecutive game, that according to OddsShark. You would think that having the top-ranked defense involved that the 43.5 over/under would be safe in terms of the under. But one way or another, the Broncos have allowed 21 or more points in five of their seven outings.

Those looking for an old-fashioned slugfest will not be disappointed. Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos will look to establish a ground game but keep in mind that these two clubs rank 1-2 in the NFL against the run, respectively. That means both Osweiler and Wentz, as well as the kicking game, must come up big. Keep an eye on the latter and his rapport with tight end Zach Ertz.

You saw what Kansas City’s Travis Kelce did to the Denver defense on Monday night. So don’t be surprised if the Broncos can’t handle the position once again. And don’t look for a lot of points from either club.

Pick: Eagles 19, Broncos 14
