Ravens at Titans: Preview, prediction, odds and pick
By John Buhler
The Tennessee Titans will host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon in Week 9. Here is the game preview, the betting odds and a final score prediction.
Week 9 of the 2017 NFL season has arrived. One of the games going on in the AFC this weekend will be between the Baltimore Ravens (4-4) and the Tennessee Titans (4-3). Kickoff from Nissan Stadium in Nashville will be at 1:00 p.m. ET on No. 5. Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon will be in the booth to call the game for CBS.
Baltimore enters play at 4-4 on the season. Though very much alive in the AFC playoff picture, few see the Ravens as a legitimate playoff threat due to the up and down nature of their offense. Some weeks, they will put up 40 points on the Miami Dolphins. Others have the Ravens failing to hit double digits on the scoreboard offensively. Let’s keep an eye on this Ravens team to see what happens the rest of the way.
Tennessee enters play at 4-3 on the season. The Titans are coming off their bye in Week 8. Tennessee leads the AFC South by virtue of the head-to-head tiebreaker over the division rival Jacksonville Jaguars. The Titans are solid, but nowhere near as impressive as we thought they would be at the start of the season. Maybe Tennessee does make the AFC playoffs at season’s end?
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Tennessee -3.5
Moneylines: Tennessee -170, Baltimore +155
Over/Under: 43
According to OddsShark, the Titans will be laying 3.5 points at home to the visiting Ravens. The associated moneylines for this game are Tennessee -170 and Baltimore +155. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 43 points.
Tennessee is a slight favorite at home against Baltimore. A lot of this game will rest on the health of the Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who suffered a head injury on a late hit by Kiko Alonso during Thursday Night Football last week.
Should Flacco be good to go, this could be a game where the Ravens make up some ground on their arch rival in the Pittsburgh Steelers in divisional play. First-place Pittsburgh is on its bye this week. This game between the Ravens and Titans will come down to the wire.

Given that it features two of the best kickers in the game in Justin Tucker and Ryan Succop, it’s only fitting that one of those two will win the game as time expires. Trust Tucker’s leg to lift the Ravens in the final seconds. Baltimore upsets the Titans by a field goal, but the point total manages to go under.
Prediction: Ravens 20, Titans 17
