Five NBA things you may have not heard about during this hectic week in sports.
If the first two weeks are any indication as to how this season is going to go, fans are in for one of the craziest seasons in recent memory.
For the first time in years, there isn’t a clear best team in the NBA. There’s a large grey cloud looming over the top NBA squads and a team has yet to emerge from the darkness. On the other hand, there’s still an awkward, tense feeling around the league. Should we begin to get excited, just to be let down when the Cavaliers and Warriors run away with it? The answer is yes. Even though the Cavaliers are without Isaiah Thomas, Cleveland looks like a train wreck. Meanwhile, Golden State plays in the star-studded Western Conference where a few teams have come out of the gate red hot. Of course, a Warriors-Cavs rematch is plausible, but it could be time for a change around the association.
While the playoff standings in the West may look a bit odd, the conference isn’t much of a surprise. The East is a different story. Even though the West has more superstars, the East is not playing around this year. Each and every team is tired of hearing about the West being better as a conference. They’ve come to play. The Eastern Conference has been turned on its head thus far and it’s incredible. The East is going to be a hot mess this season and it’s exactly what the NBA needs.
With notable events such as the World Series and College Football Playoff rankings release this week, it’s easy to miss out on some notable news. Here are five things you may have missed from around the NBA.
