Overwatch will soon be welcoming its 26th hero into its ranks with the support/DPS combo Moira.

It’s already been a year since Sombra hacked her way to her official announcement as a new Overwatch hero at BlizzCon. With BlizzCon 2017 in full swing, Jeff Kaplan and the Overwatch team wasted no time in announcing another new hero that players will soon be able to use to dance around the payload.

Moira will be classified a support character, but it’s clear that she also possess plenty of damage-dealing ability as well. She participates in the battle by using two orbs of light. One heals her teammates and the other damages her enemies. She has a distinctly mage-like feel to her, hearkening back to the games that helped make Blizzard the video game giant it is today.

Moira is another member of the Talon organization. She’s a scientist with a focus on genetic engineering. She used to develop weapons and technology for Blackwatch, a secret Overwatch team with the likes of McCree and Genji, but her work for Overwatch ended when it was disbanded. Now she is doing research funded by Talon, and so could be considered another one of the “bad guys” in the game’s lore.

Here’s a breakdown and description of each of her abilities, as per the official Overwatch website:

"BIOTIC GRASPUsing her left hand, Moira expends biotic energy to heal allies in front of her. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies’ health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy.BIOTIC ORBMoira launches a rebounding biotic sphere; she can choose between a regeneration effect that heals the allies it passes through, or a decay effect that deals damage to enemies.FADEMoira quickly teleports a short distance.COALESCENCEMoira channels a long-range beam that both heals allies and bypasses barriers to damage her enemies."

Moira heals and damages, and has both long range and short range attacks. Her ultimate, if used when teammates are in an optimal position, could not only negate other ultimates but also deal a fair amount of destruction on its own. It certainly feels like she can do it all, with Jeff Kaplan apparently even joking that Moira is spelled “OP AF.”

As with any new hero in Overwatch, we’ll just have to see when we play her.
