Iowa State has had one of its best seasons in ages. The Cyclones are 6-2 (4-1) on the year and are the No. 15 team in the country. Iowa State has really come to live under head coach Matt Campbell. The Cyclones have huge Big 12 wins over the Oklahoma Sooners and the TCU Horned Frogs, both of whom are ranked ahead of them. Iowa State’s two losses are to the in-state rival Iowa Hawkeyes and the Texas Longhorns in Big 12 play.
West Virginia has been a team that has been in and out of the top-15 all year long. Entering play, the Mountaineers are 5-3 (3-2) on the season. They seem to have the answer at quarterback in former Florida Gators transfer Will Grier. West Virginia is not a College Football Playoff team, but is one win away from earning bowl eligibility in early November.
