It’s already Week 10 of the 2017 college football season. One game going on in the early afternoon on Saturday will be between the UMass Minutemen (2-6) and the No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs (6-2).

UMass enters play at 2-6 on the season. The Minutemen will need to win out to have any shot at being bowl eligible for the 2017 college football season. Having to play one of the top-25 teams in the nation on the road in Mississippi State does not look promising for this struggling Division I football program.
Mississippi State enters play at 6-2 (2-2) on the season. The Bulldogs are the No. 16 team in the country. While they do have two losses on the season, they were in SEC play and to two ranked teams in the Georgia Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers. Mississippi State may not win the SEC West, but does have a clear path to 10 wins if Dan Mullen’s team wants it.
