No. 5: Oklahoma

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State was Bedlam, indeed. Over 100 points were put up, with the Sooners getting the edge in the fourth quarter and winning. This stabilizes their position in the rankings since everyone else won ahead of them. If the game was a blowout, there would have been a better chance at advancement.

No. 4: Clemson

Clemson played a tight game against No. 20 NC State, barely holding them off in the fourth quarter. Despite Oklahoma putting up 62 points against Oklahoma State, look for the Tigers to remain at No. 4, given the victory over a ranked team. Their grip isn’t strong, so winning out is a must.

No. 3: Notre Dame

Notre Dame Football is back. The Fighting Irish rose to No. 3 in the rankings for Week 10 and should keep this spot after defeating Wake Forest. The defense allowed 37 points but the offense looked better than ever, lighting up the Demon Deacons for 48 points, including a 24-point second quarter. As long as Brian Kelly’s team continues to win, they shouldn’t lose their grip on a playoff spot.

No. 2: Alabama

Another win for Alabama. This time, it came against LSU, one week after starting at No. 2 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. Aside from the SEC Championship Game, there’s little reason to believe the Crimson Tide will lose a game. So, look for Nick Saban’s squad to keep its positioning and be a top team in college football.

No. 1: Georgia

Georgia entered Week 10 as the No. 1 team in the first College Football Playoff Rankings of the season, eclipsing Alabama. It did nothing to lose a grip on this, defeating South Carolina, 24-10. Expect a continued placement as the top team in the nation, despite the Crimson Tide knocking off No. 19 LSU. Nothing may change until these schools potentially meet in the SEC Championship Game.
