Sassuolo are two points above the relegation zone, as they look to extend their five-year run in Serie A. AC Milan are eighth in the standings but have been one of the most disappointing teams in Europe after they spent €200 million in the summer transfer window.

Sassuolo have dropped their past two games, losing 3-1 to table-topping Napoli in their last game. The biggest problem Sassuolo have this season is their lack of goal scorers. Only winless Benevento have scored fewer than the six goals that Sassuolo has scored. If Sassuolo doesn’t pick up their goal scoring pace, they will likely find themselves battling Genoa and Verona in the relegation battle.

Milan dropped their last game 2-0 to Juventus, in what was supposed to be Leonardo Bonucci’s first game against his former team. Bonucci missed Milan’s last two games with a red card suspension. Milan fans are hoping that the time away from the field will help Bonucci rediscover his form that made him one of the world’s best defenders with Juventus. Bonucci has been heavily criticized for his poor play since joining Milan. With Milan’s needing to qualify for Champions League in order to repay their loans, they need to start getting results. Vincenzo Montella is on the hot seat after his team picked up only four points in the last six games.
