DraftKings NBA Picks November 6: Whiteside Is A Great Value!

There are only three NBA games in the main DraftKings tournament tonight. That makes it a little harder for us to gain separation, but there are plenty of value plays tonight. Who can make a difference for us? Let’s check some stats!

More from DraftKings

Just a reminder that the classic tournaments on DraftKings truly are classic. They do not allow for late swapping. The late swap tournaments are much, much smaller, so we have to decide if we want a fair match, or if we want to win big money. We shouldn’t have to decide that!

You had to have Harden and Lillard to really come out ahead last night. Donovan Mitchell continues to be one of the most reliable value plays around!

BOSTON, MA – OCTOBER 24: Kyrie Irving #11 of the Boston Celtics looks on during the first half against the New York Knicks at TD Garden on October 24, 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts. (Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images) /

Point Guards

Best Bets:

Kyrie Irving ($8,800): It’s hard to fade Curry, but the Heat have allowed the fewest fantasy points to point guards so far this season. I wont fault anyone for using Curry, especially since he hasn’t been under 44 DraftKings points since the opener. Irving has quietly been nearly as effective as Curry. He has averaged 44.2 DraftKings points per game over the last five, and has a pretty good matchup against Atlanta.

D’Angelo Russell ($8,200): Russell still has the occasional clunker, but he has been over 5x value in five of eight games this season. He picked up 47 DraftKings points against the Suns in Brooklyn on Halloween night. There is no reason that he can’t do the same in Phoenix tonight.

Honorable Mention:

Dennis Schroder ($7,100): Schroder is the clear leader for the Hawks. He has a very high usage rate, which gives him plenty of chances to hit value every night. He is going to have a tougher time against Boston, but Schroder has delivered 5x value or better in all but one game this year.

Goran Dragic ($6,800): Dragic’s numbers have been much better with Whiteside on the court. These two feed off of each other. Most of Dragic’s value comes from his passing skills, so I do’t think the Warriors keep him under 5x value since they are not great against centers, and Miami has one of the better ones.

Dark Horses:

Mike James ($5,300): Tyler Ulis continues to play more minutes, but James is far more productive. He lit up the Nets last week. I wouldn’t expect an encore performance of that 44.75 DraftKings point outburst, but 6x value should be cake. James is far safer than Ulis right now.

Spencer Dinwiddie ($4,900): Dinwiddie picked up 26 DraftKings points on the Nets on Halloween in 22 minutes. Dinwiddie should still see between 20 and 25 minutes per night, so he should continue to be a solid value pick.

My picks: Irving(PG), Russell(G)

PHOENIX, AZ – OCTOBER 20: Devin Booker #1 of the Phoenix Suns reacts during the NBA game against the Los Angeles Lakers at Talking Stick Resort Arena on October 20, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Lakers defeated the Suns 132-130. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images) /

Shooting Guards

Best Bets:

Devin Booker ($8,400): Booker’s breakout season continues, and he has only got better with Eric Bledsoe out of the picture. Booker has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of the last five games, and has at least been in the 30’s in the two games that he missed. He racked up 47.25 DraftKings points on the Nets last week. Expect more of the same tonight.

Klay Thompson ($6,900): While the Heat have done great defending the point, they have not fared so well off the ball. Only five teams have allowed more points to shooting guards this season. Thompson is the best scorer for the Warriors outside, so expect a strong game for him tonight, especially if Dragic can succeed in holding back Curry.

Honorable Mention:

Jaylen Brown ($6,000): Brown is not a fixture in the offense like his predecessor Avery Bradley, and for five minutes, Gordon Hayward. Brown needs to find most of his value elsewhere, like being a good rebounder from his guard slot. Brown is a capable player, but lacks big upside. He has only hit 6x value once this year, but he could come close against the Hawks tonight.

Marcus Smart ($5,100): Smart seems to have overcome the balky ankle with a big game yesterday. Even with the injury to Hayward, this team is loaded on the wings, so they all cannibalize each other’s value. However, Smart is the most consistent scorer of any of the others, so he makes for the safest play.

Dark Horses:

Tyler Johnson ($4,400): If Dion Waiters is out again, and it seems he will be, Johnson looks to be the guy to own. J-Rich and Ellington will both see more run as well, but Johnson is the more accomplished scorer of the three. He also comes cheaper than Richardson. If Waiters is out, Johnson provides the salary relief that you need.

Wayne Ellington ($3,300): Johnson provided more, points, but Ellington was the better value at $1,100 cheaper. There is a chance that Miami gets blown out, but I would still expect to see guys like Johnson and Ellington out there to finish up even if Waiters is still out.

My pick: Thompson(SG)

DENVER, CO – NOVEMBER 04: Kevin Durant #35 of the Golden State Warriors brings the ball down the court against the Denver Nugget at the Pepsi Center on November 4, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. (Photo by Matthew Stockman/Getty Images) /

Small Forwards:

Best Bet:

Kevin Durant ($10,100): The Warriors haven’t produced many blowouts lately, but even when they have, Durant has still come close to value. I am a little nervous with his price this high and with possibility with Waiters being out. However, Durant is one of the few that will get you a sure 40 and has a good shot at 50 DraftKings points tonight. You just have to decide if you’re willing to pay for it.

Honorable Mention:

T.J. Warren ($5,700): Warren didn’t miss a beat after taking a shot to the head on Wednesday. Warren has become a reliable scorer just like Booker for this team. The only difference is that Warren is about $3,000 cheaper. He is a sure 6x value right now. He picked up 37.25 DraftKings points against the Nets on Halloween. I can think of a reason not to use Warren here.

Taurean Prince ($5,600): The Hawks are only running about eight deep right now, which means that Prince is guaranteed a lot of minutes. He has done a good job with them too, hitting at least 5.5x value five times in the last six games. I trust Warren more than Prince, but Prince will get really good run and be far lower owned than Warren.

Dark Horses:

DeMarre Carroll ($5,400): Carroll has only been under 30 DraftKings points twice in eight games so far. In one of those games he played just 23 minutes. Carroll is getting good run for the Nets right now, and put up 6x value on them last week. I trust him more than Bazemore against a good Boston defense.

Josh Richardson ($4,800): Richardson is one of the few wings for the Heat that is in play even if Waiters returns to the team tonight. The two co-exist well together, but I still like Richardson a lot more if Waiters is out again. Keep an eye on updates throughout the day on this one.

My pick: Warren(SF)

SHENZHEN, CHINA – OCTOBER 05: Draymond Green #23 of the Golden State Warriors looks on during the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors as part of 2017 NBA Global Games China at Universidade Center on October 5, 2017 in Shenzhen, China. Power Forwards

Best Bet:

Draymond Green ($7,400): Green does so many things well that he rarely lays an egg, but he also doesn’t score a lot, so his upside is capped. That said, Green has scored 47 points in the last three games, so Green has been even more of an asset lately. That should continue against the Heat.

James Johnson ($6,300): Johnson’s knee looks fine, thank you. He has played 59 minutes and put up 67 DraftKings points over his last two games. Expect another solid game against the Warriors, though the Heat will try to keep his minutes down some again.

Honorable Mention:

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson ($5,900): Hollis-Jefferson has exactly 36.25 DraftKings points in each of the last two games. One of those was against the Suns. If he does it for the third time in a row, he is at 6x value tonight!

John Collins ($5,000): Collins has turned into a double-double machine off the bench. The Hawks are still starting Luke Babbitt, but with the way Collins is playing lately, that can’t continue for long, right? Collins is a great value play right now.

Dark Horses:

Marcus Morris ($4,000): Morris drew the start yesterday, and did a lot in his 23 minutes. He was exactly what Boston needed for their frontcourt. Morris will likely be widely used tonight, bt you almost have to at this price. 8x value is very likely, and more is possible.

Luke Babbitt ($3,400): Babbitt played 42 of the 48 minutes last night, and scored 17 points in the upset win over Cleveland. That marks three straight games in which Babbitt has gone over 6x value. With Ilyasova and Muscala out, the Hawks still want Collins off the bench. Which means Babbitt is free to tear things up with lots of minutes.

My pick: Hollis-Jefferson(PF), Morris(F), Babbitt(UTIL)

BOSTON, MA – MAY 17: Al Horford #42 of the Boston Celtics handles the ball against Kyle Korver #26 of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first half during Game One of the 2017 NBA Eastern Conference Finals at TD Garden on May 17, 2017 in Boston, Massachusetts.(Photo by Adam Glanzman/Getty Images) /

Center:

Best Bets:

Al Horford ($7,200): Horford continues to rack up double-doubles, and has only missed 5x value twice on the season so far. With the Hawks thin up front, and Horford facing his former team, he could be in for a big night tonight.

Hassan Whiteside ($7,000): Whiteside is way too cheap tonight. The Heat finally played him over 30 minutes yesterday as they were easing him back into the fold. That appears to be over. Whiteside will likely only play about 30 minutes again tonight, but that’s all he needs to dominate.

Honorable Mention:

Alex Len ($4,600): Len has the most upside of the Suns’ big men, but he doesn’t always to the most with it. However, Len picked up 24.25 DraftKings points against the Suns last week. Both he and Chandler could be worth using if you need to go cheap.

Tyson Chandler ($4,100): Chandler was a force last night, and it seems as though the Suns are showcasing him for a trade. He is playing more than Len and Bender, and often outproducing both of them. He didn’t outscore Len against Brooklyn last week, but he still hit 5x value.

Dark Horse:

Dewayne Dedmon ($4,000): Dedmon still isn’t playing more than half the game, but he is routinely hitting 5x value. There are are higher upside plays down here, but none are quite as consistent as Dedmon.

My pick: Whiteside(C)
