Miami showcased exactly why they’re on top of the ACC power rankings with their win over Virginia Tech on Saturday. See where everyone else landed.
If you take anything out of a big Week 10 in the 2017 college football season, let it be that the Miami Hurricanes are legit and should be taken seriously in both the ACC and the national conversation.
The Hurricanes pulled off a big win over a solid team on Saturday, winning 28-10 over the Virginia Tech Hokies at home to establish themselves at the top of the conference. While Clemson had an impressive win against NC State over the weekend, it’s tough to argue with a team with a zero in their loss column through eight games.
There wasn’t a lot going on in the ACC in Week 10, with a lot of teams getting the week off to get ready for the tail end of the 2017 season. However, we still saw some movement towards the top of the list, which makes up for the lack thereof towards the bottom of the barrel with the mediocre teams.
Check out this week’s installment of the ACC power rankings, and see where your favorite team landed in comparison to their conference rivals heading into Week 11.

Luckily for the North Carolina Tar Heels, they didn’t play a game this week, so their record can’t get worse and I can’t rip them apart any more than I have this year. On the flip side, they didn’t have a chance to play a game and potentially prove me wrong, so maybe not playing was a negative.
The Tar Heels have a big game (in their standards) against Pittsburgh next week to prepare for, which may be their best chance for a win in the next few weeks to potentially double their win total on the year. Until that point, we’re just going to keep them here at the bottom of the list.
The best part about a lot of the teams in the ACC having Week 10 off is the lack of disappointment flowing through my veins when it comes to the Duke Blue Devils in these conference power rankings.
The Blue Devils didn’t have a game this past weekend, which honestly may be for the best. They needed a chance to regroup after a tough stretch that pushed their record to 4-5, and hopefully they can build up any bit of momentum to get back to, or even above .500 on the year. In this case, I hope they can do it just so I don’t look as bad for those first few power rankings to start the year.
