A look at the top fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 10.

Week 9 is behind us. TY Hilton had 175 yards and two scores after three atrocious weeks. Terrance Williams came back from the dead, but fantasy zombies cannot be trusted. Alvin Kamara finally paid off; hope you started him. Fantasy football is a fickle beast, and as an owner, it’s your job to play the odds and hope for the best but there are no guarantees.

It’s been an especially unpredictable fantasy season, which makes depth all the more important.  That’s why the waiver wire is what separates fantasy dominance from your friends making fun of you. It’s week 10, so don’t expect to be picking up the next Aaron Rodgers out of the blue, but strengthening your bench is the grunt work that makes a championship fantasy roster possible.

The waiver wire is the unsung hero of fantasy football. Like a good offensive line, it will go unnoticed and carry you to where to want to go. Here are the Top 10 waiver wire pickups for Week 10:

10. Tyler Kroft

Tyler Kroft was on this list last week, and while he didn’t have a monster Week 9, he did have a decent performance. Kroft only earned two targets, but he maximized them in the form of two grabs for 79 yards. Kroft is not Tyler Eifert, so don’t expect production like the former Notre Dame standout, but you can do a heck of a lot worse filling in for a tight end on their bye week (or a last-minute deactivated Zach Ertz).

Kroft has been consistently involved in the Cincinnati passing game for several weeks now, and he’s a pickup for tight end-needy teams. He’s not flashy, but that’s not what wins fantasy leagues. Getting eight boring points is what just may put you over the top in a crucial matchup.

The Bengals’ offense is not bad, despite what Andy Dalton detractors were having you believe back in Week 1. AJ Green punching Jalen Ramsey last week further complicates matters, as Green could potentially miss more time. If AJ were to get saddled with a suspension of any kind, Kroft would immediately see his value increase. It would be valid for just a game or two, but we’re in Week 10 here and you take what you can get.

Kroft is 10th on this list for a reason, as his upside is extremely limited, but he’s a player to consider. The Bengals throw enough that their tight end is relevant no matter what, so don’t look for the flashy sleeper pickup this week if you need TE help.
